The Voyage of the Caird
by Stephanie Sakson
Stephanie Sakson has been creating art and crafts for most of her life. After her performance as a street actor (Jacob Marley!) in the local (Port Jefferson, Long Island, NY) Dickens Fest, held annually on the first weekend in December, she created a puppet show for "A Christmas Carol," and then it was on to other shows. "Frankenstein: Reimagined" tells the story of Mary Shelley's book but with a new, better ending. Having read "The Worst Journey" many years ago, she returned to stories of polar exploration. Inspired by the relationship between Ernest Shackleton ("The Boss") and Frank Worsley ("Wuzzles"--his actual nickname!) during their 800-mile crossing of the polar sea in the Caird, she wanted to share the story. "The Voyage of the Caird" is her most ambitious show yet, with a revolving set and moving scroll that tells the story in verse she created for the show. Stephanie is happy to present it at Terror Camp! For more information, contact Stephanie at MagpiePuppets@gmail.com.
