Call for artists!

Seeking artists who create work about polar exploration, polar explorers, and the cultures of the Arctic and Antarctic!

Terror Camp is a conference for academics and non-academics alike, and we feature artists who engage with polar themes from across the creative spectrum.

During the virtual conference, artists in the Artists’ Alley will have their storefront featured on the Terror Camp website, and in the Terror Camp Discord.

Successful applicants will be invited to submit an artist statement or bio, and a featured product of your choice. Photos of your featured product, plus your statement will be included on the Alley page of the Terror Camp website, along with any social media links you submit.

You don’t need to be a visual artist – novel writers, crafters, and other creatives are all welcome, as long as you are interested in selling your wares to Terror Camp attendees.

Applications to be part of Artists' Alley must be submitted by September 1, 2024.

Requirements:

  • A virtual storefront on a platform of your choice (Etsy, Redbubble, Big Cartel, Shopify, etc) must be online and accessible by December 1, 2024.

Strongly Recommended:

  • If possible, offer a discount code of 15% or more to Terror Camp attendees on the days of the conference.

Artists' Alley Guidelines

All artists will be notified of inclusion in the Alley by October 1, 2024. Note that applicants are not guaranteed a spot in the alley. Terror Camp reserves the right to curate the Artists’ Alley based on internal needs and requirements.

Exclusive Merchandise Guidelines

Do you want your designs to live on in the form of exclusive Terror Camp merch? This year we are also giving space to those artists who would rather provide an exclusive merch design for the official Terror Camp Redbubble store rather than join the Artists' Alley with their own storefront.

The exclusivity period for Redbubble designs will last from the submission date (1st November 2024) to the end of the year (31st December 2024). Any profit made through Redbubble will contribute to the running costs of the conference. After the period of exclusivity the designs can be taken off the Terror Camp Redbubble site upon request. From 1st January 2025 the designers are free to use their designs in their own capacity on their own storefronts.
